ICC CRICKET WORLD CUP 2015 SCHEDULE TEAM FIXTURES AND VENUE

INFORMATION ABOUT SCHEDULE AND VENUE

The ICC world cup tournament will be jointly held across Australia and New Zealand in February and March 2015. The first matches will be played in Christchurch and Melbourne on 14 February, with the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 29 March.

Fourteen teams will participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. The initial phase will involve two pools of seven teams playing in a round-robin format. The top four teams from each pool will proceed to the knock out stage of the tournament, which will comprise quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. There will be no third place play-off.

Past ICC Cricket World Cup Tournaments winners were as detailed below :


Australia has won the tournament four times (1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007). The West Indies (1975, 1979) and India (1983, 2011) have won twice, while Pakistan (1992) and Sri Lanka (1996) have each won once.

 After 2015, the next ICC Cricket World Cup tournament would be held in the year 2019 and it would be hosted by England and Wales.
